What I Did with My Summer Vacation*

I may not have written anything of substance in a very long time, but in the last two weeks, I have completed the following:

  • Replaced all the burned out light bulbs for the interior and exterior of the house
  • Bought and installed blinds on the windows that didn’t have them
  • Replaced the bath mat (since we haven’t had one in months)
  • Replaced the shower curtain rod and bought a shower curtain that actually matches the bathroom
  • Fixed the towel rack
  • Installed curtain rods in the bedroom and hung curtains
  • Bought a hamper so the Captain will hopefully stop piling his laundry on the bedroom floor
  • Purchased, assembled, and installed a headboard
  • Bought a bedspread since we never actually had one
  • Put the crap we never use in the attic
  • Purchased and hung art throughout the house
  • Bought and assembled an accent table for the entryway
  • Hung new curtains in the living room and kitchen
  • Patched the walls in various rooms
  • Replaced the broken doorbell (battery-powered)
  • Fixed some trim in the kitchen
  • Reorganized the kitchen cabinets
  • Lined the kitchen shelves with shelf paper
  • Got some new lamps and knick knacks
  • And, yes, some actual wedding planning

Whew! So tomorrow is a day of rest. All I have to do is plant my gardens, hang the hammock, install some shutters, put up a new backsplash, and clean the house.

But I’ll have help.

* My vacation from blogging, that is.
